High school is one giant game of juggling everything that gets thrown at you. Classwork, homework, social life, love life, extracurricular activities, hobbies, jobs… And while it can be insanely stressful, the positive result is that you get to learn things – not just about class subjects, but about yourself. You find out who your friends are, what your interests are, how to prioritize, how not to procrastinate… Just kidding, high school students never learn that last one.
During my freshman and sophomore years, I came to school, and that was pretty much that. Of course I had friends to talk to and some hobbies, but I saw school simply as a place I had to go to five days a week before spending the weekend doing what I wanted.
I was able to find my place in high school by getting involved, and it made my senior year one of the most stressful but best times of my life. I hope the same goes for the rest of you… but if it doesn’t, it’s absolutely not too late to explore and find what you love.
Every challenge along the way, with courage we have faced. We battled every day, and we’ve claimed our rightful place… as graduates of Westminster High School. So come with me, the time is right. There’s no better team. Arm in arm, we’ll finish this fight, and move on to achieve our dreams.
